Washington Incentive Filmmakers on SIFF TV

In June, Washington Filmworks (WF) had a lot to take in at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF).  With six incentive features and fifty films made in Washington, the immense talent of the Evergreen State’s film industry couldn’t have shone brighter.  From start to finish SIFF audiences had access to homegrown entertainment.  SIFF even bookended their 2012 festival with two features produced and shot in Washington – Lynn Shelton’s “Your Sister’s Sister” opened the festival and Stephen Gyllenhaal’s “Grassroots” was the closing night film.

Exciting Changes at Washington Filmworks

In recent weeks, Washington Filmworks has been travelling the state to discuss our film community’s legislative success.  We’ve also been addressing how the film office, the production incentive, and the statewide industry can work together to make the most of the future of filmmaking in Washington.  The community came out to participate in late May, as the conversation took place at events in both Spokane and at the Seattle International Film Festival.  We took the opportunity to explain some of the program changes at WF as a result of the new legislation.
